Chattanooga, TN - U.S. Senator-elect Bob Corker today expressed his strong support for the sales tax deduction that is scheduled to be voted on by the Congress this week. The "tax extender" package would keep in place the ability of Tennessee taxpayers to write off the state and local sales taxes they pay from their annual filings to the IRS. "Tennesseans should continue to have the ability to deduct the sales taxes they pay in our state from their federal income taxes," said Senator-elect Bob Corker. "I urge my future colleagues in the Senate to act on this important 'tax extender' package quickly and pass this common-sense piece of legislation before the end of this Congress." ###
