WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), a member of the Senate Banking Committee, released the following statement today about the Federal Reserve’s decision to raise interest rates.

“I am pleased with today’s announcement that the Fed has begun to normalize interest rates,” said Corker. “It is my hope this decision, like every FOMC decision, was made based on the data. A truly independent central bank is critical to maintaining long-run price stability.”
