Senator-elect Bob Corker Names Paul Palagyi as Legislative Director
Former DeWine LD Will Head Corker’s Legislative Team
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator-elect Bob Corker (R-TN) today announced that Paul Palagyi will serve as his Legislative Director. Palagyi has worked in the Senate since 1997 and as Legislative Director for Sen. Mike DeWine (R-OH) for the past five years.
“During his impressive career, Paul has demonstrated a tremendous ability to manage a legislative staff and effectively drive a comprehensive agenda,” Corker said. “He will help us assemble a top notch legislative team, committed to creating, shaping and passing legislation that represents the priorities and values that are important to Tennesseans.”
“I am honored to be serving Senator-elect Corker and the people of Tennessee in this important role,” said Palagyi. “I look forward to working with Senator Corker and our staff on legislation that is important to Tennesseans and that moves our country forward in a positive way.”
Prior to serving as DeWine’s Legislative Director, Palagyi, 38, worked on education issues on the Senate’s Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee and before that served as a Legislative Assistant for DeWine on conservation, environmental and energy related issues. From 1991-1997, Palagyi worked in Ohio state government. He is a 1991 graduate of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.
As Legislative Director, Palagyi will supervise the legislative staff and serve as Corker’s primary advisor on Senate procedure and legislation. He assumes his position when Corker takes office January 4.
