WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bob Corker, R-Tenn., made the following statement in honor of Memorial Day, Monday, May 27: “My job gives me the opportunity to meet with members of our military serving all over the world. It is humbling and often emotionally overwhelming to be in their presence. On Memorial Day we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, and we can honor them by working to make the country they fought and died for even stronger. In an appearance today on Fox News Sunday, U.S. Senator Bob Corker, R-Tenn., told host Chris Wallace that the country will know President Obama is serious about getting our fiscal house in order when the president "begins to say publicly to the American people... that he understands that Americans are only paying a third of the costs of Medicare, and that has to change for the program to be here down the road."
